General Aftercare Guidelines

  1. Protect the Skin:

    • Keep the treated area clean and dry.

    • Avoid prolonged sun exposure; use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when outdoors.

    • Wear loose clothing over the area to prevent irritation.

  2. Promote Healing:

    • Apply a prescribed or recommended ointment, such as antibiotic cream or petroleum jelly, to prevent infection. Aloe vera gel and Savlon work well.

    • Cover the area with a sterile bandage if needed.

  3. Avoid Irritants:

    • Refrain from picking or scratching scabs or blisters to prevent scarring or infection.

    • Avoid hot showers, swimming pools, saunas, and strenuous exercise for at least 48 hours.

  4. Monitor for Complications:

    • Look for signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, or pus.

    • Contact your provider if you experience excessive pain or unusual symptoms.
